Economic Development Department, City of Medina
The City of Medina's Economic Development Department acts as the Ombudsman for the City and its businesses. As the Ombudsman we are the voice of the business to the City's Administration and Council. The department is responsible to:
- Identify, promote, and facilitate the retention and expansion of existing businesses and attract new business to the community.
- Implement the City's Economic Development Plan.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of the City profile, marketing plan and City image building.
- Serve as the City's representative to the Medina County Economic Development Corporation, the Joint Economic Planning Committee and the Medina County Housing Network.
- Monitor local, state, and federal legislation and regulations relating to economic development and report finding and trends.

Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce
For more than 70 years, the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce has been a voice of business in our community. As businesses and communities are evermore dependant upon each other for their success, the Chamber's role has evolved. Today, the Chamber helps strengthen the community by keeping its members focused and involved in the top business, civic and socail priorities of the Greater Medina area. They provide leadership opportunities, volunteer programs, and business-building initiatives that focus on critical community priorities, helping to create a climate of growth and success for all.
The Chamber is a voluntary organization of the business community, and including businesses ranging in size from sole propietors to large companies. The Chamber is a not-for-profit, tax paying organization, uniting hundreds of businesses and professional firms.

Medina County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC)
It is the mission of the Medina County Economic Development Corporation to enhance the quality of life in the county through economic development.
The Medina County Economic Development Corporation provides professional, comprehensive assistance to a wide variety of economic development clients. MCEDC's capabilities are focused to meet the needs of clients in a confidential and time sensitive fashion.

MCEDC
Small Business Administration (SBA)
The government's Small Business Administration is more than loans, it offers comprehensive counseling on starting a business, growing your business and succeeding in your business. Other organizations associated with the SBA are:
- SCORE: "Counselors to America's Small Business" is the best source of free and confidential small business advice to help you build your business - from idea to start-up to success.
- Small Business Development Centers: provide counseling and training to those who want to start a small business and to existing small business owners. SBDC programs and economic development activities include international trade assistance, technical assistance, procurement assistance, venture capital formation and rural development.
- SBA's Office of Women's Business Ownership: promotes the growth of women owned businesses through programs that address business training and technical assitance, and provide access to credit and capital, federal contracts, and international trade.
- Veteran Assistance: Since 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration has been providing entrepreneurial assistance to veterans and service-disabled veterans who return home to start, resume or further grow their business.
- SBA Financing Programs: The SBA assists the business owner through providing guaranty to the financial institutions providing the capital to start or grow your business. For more information on the SBAs various financing tools visit their website.
- PTAC: If you need in-depth counseling on seeking federal or state government contracts, you can turn to the Procurement and Technical Assistance Centers located throughout the country. The nearest PTAC office to Medina is located in Kent (330-672-9448).
