2011 Business Retention and Expansion Survey

Acknowledging the investments and contributions made by local employers in the economy of Medina County and to show dedication to maintaining a friendly business climate, the Board of Medina County Commissioners declared May 2010 as Medina County Business Appreciation Month.
With the help of the Economic Development Departments of the City of Medina, Brunswick, Wadsworth and Seville, the Medina County Economic Development Corporation, for the second consecutive year, has organized this business outreach program. Since the majority of job growth comes from businesses already located in our community, business retention is vital to the county’s economic stability. The May visitation program allows the elected official and the Medina County Economic Development Corporation to establish or maintain cooperative working relationships with the business community and become a first point of contact for growing companies.

There were 75 visits completed this year. During these visits, companies have the opportunity to discuss issues of concern and to learn more about how their government works to support them.
