On behalf of all the members of the Medina Fire Department, I would like to welcome you to our website. We hope that you will find useful information about the department and general fire safety.
The department was started in 1874 and purchased its’ first fire truck in 1877. Since that humble beginning, we have grown to 3 stations and 6 pieces of apparatus. The stations are staffed by 9 officers and 30 firefighters. Our department provides fire protection for the city of Medina and Montville township. Our district covers 32 square miles with a population of 32,000 residents. The departments responsibilities have expanded from strictly firefighting and now include hazardous materials, technical rescue, fire investigations and medical first responder response.
