Clerk of Council Catherine (Katie) Horn has been with the city of Medina since May 1, 1978. She was appointed Clerk of Council September 25, 1978. In October of 1985 she was awarded the distinction of Certified Municipal Clerk by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks making her the 27th Clerk on the state of Ohio so honored.
In addition to varied responsibilities, the clerk of council is responsible for managing the council office, attending all council and committee meetings, writing legislation and documenting all official actions taken at meetings.
The clerk is appointed by a majority of council and serves at the pleasure of city council.
