MEDINA COMMUNITY POLICE ACADEMY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
BOARD MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 18, 2004 City Hall Meeting Room
Meeting called to order at 7:05PM by President Bill Roser
Members Present: Bill Roser, Bill Cohen, Pam Miller, Marilyn Sobotincic, Doug McClure, Kellie Conetsco & Karen Whitaker
Treasurer’s Report – Bill Cohen – No changes in balance
Bill Roser reminded everyone that Cops’n Kids will be Saturday, August 21, 2004, at Medina Meadows Rehab & Nursing Center on Miner Drive from 10AM to 2PM. Flyers have been circulated to advertise the event. Life Flight will arrive about 10:30AM if available.
Class #5 is in need of a Committee Chair or Co-Chairs.
B. Roser, B. Cohen, P. Miller & M. Sobotincic will meet at Yours Truly Restaurant on Friday, August 20th at 8AM to discuss programs for Class #5. Will group topics into ten classes. Hope to have class selections narrowed down by September 9th Board Meeting.
Thursday, September 23, 2004 is the next general meeting, 7PM at City Hall. Chief Hanwell will speak for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. He will let us know the direction he would like the MCPAAA to take. Chris Cerino will also address the group for about 20 minutes. Christa Winebrenner will be honored & 2004-2005 directories will be distributed. After a refreshment break regular agenda items will be covered quickly & a survey will be handed out to members.
Went over member & graduate roster for 04-05 directory & Kellie will make corrections.
Discussed survey to be handed out at September General meeting & added a line for not interested to the other choices listed. The Board members will call the members not in attendance to get their survey answers.
Board/Class #5 committee will meet on Thursday, September 9, 2004, at 7/7:30PM.
The Medina County Crime Prevention & Safety Expo will be held Saturday, October 23, 2004 from 10AM to 4PM at the Medina Eagles Club, 696 Lafayette Road, Medina, OH. For further information regarding participation or set-up, contact Sgt. Bev Fraser at 330-725-0028 ext. 1521.
