Community Housing Improvement Program
The Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP) provides grants to eligible communities interested in undertaking housing-related activities, including necessary infrastructure improvements. The grants are awarded competitively and encourage a flexible, community-wide approach to the improvement and provision of affordable housing for low- and moderate-income persons, and help develop local administrative capacity. For FY 2009, the grant ceiling is $500,000 - communities may apply for up to $50,000 in additional funding in order to expand a rental rehabilitation component or to construct or rehabilitate a home in conjunction with a local Habitat for Humanity affiliate.
In 2008, the City of Medina applied for and received a CHIP grant which will run through the year 2010.
The City of Medina does not currently have a CHIP grant or any housing improvement funds available. The city applied for CHIP funding on April 1, 2011. Funding announcements are expected sometime in August of 2011.

All completed applications should be mailed to the address at the bottom of the instruction sheet. Applications should not be dropped off at city hall.
