TRANSFER TITLE AGENCY
On February 24, 2017, Transfer Title Agency, located at 748 North Court Street in Medina, celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Transfer Title Agency (TTA) was formed in 1967 by the partners in the law firm of Skidmore & Hall, L. Thomas Skidmore and Ronald H. Hall. Today, Robert Skidmore and Lee Skidmore are the owners of the company where Rob serves as president and Lee serves as general counsel. Easter Seals has recently relocated to 124 North Court Street. The agency has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, and their families, live better lives for nearly 100 years. HIGH VOLTAGE OUTDOOR RACING TRACK

 High Voltage Indoor Karting at 333 Foundry Street held a Ribbon Cutting for it newest addition, a quarter-mile outdoor track. The initial indoor track was opened in 2015. This is the second phase of the project for business owners Greg Cordray and Steve Madden. It brings the exhilarating total track experience to a half mile.

CARLISLE BRAKE & FRICTION GROUND BREAKING

Carlisle Brake and Friction, located at 920 Lake Road in the Medina Industrial Park, broke ground on July 21, 2017 for a 158,000 sqaure feet, $45 million+ expansion.  Local, regional, and State of Ohio dignitaries gathered to celebrate this new project that will bring 70 new jobs to the City of Medina and $3 million in annual payroll. Carlisle's rich history includes builing transmission linings for the Ford Model T in the 1920's. The company is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2017. They attribute their growth and innovation to the company's investment in their people and facilities. Headquartered in Solon, Ohio, the company has operations in Indiana, Wales, China, Italy, India, and Japan. 

 

 MEDINA FAMILY MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAIL

A Ribbon Cutting was held on July 21, 2017 for the Medina Family Mountain Bike Trail in the City of Medina's Huffman Cummingham Park at 4400 Weymouth Road, Medina. The Medina City Parks Department has nearly 10 miles of trails with varying difficulty.  Riders come from all over the country to ride these trails.

 

 MANHATTAN DAMES RIBBON CUTTING

A Ribbon Cutting for Manhattan Dames, located at 140 West Waningon Street, Lower Level, in the City of Medina, was held on July 21, 2017.  Manhattan Dames is owned by Noelle Colahan and this new shop offers authentic vintage clothing and decor, new vintage-Inspired clothing, shabby chic, and refurbished furniture, and gifts.

 

RICO MANUFACTURING EXPANSION PROJECT RIBBON CUTTING

A Ribbon Cutting was held on July 21, 2017 for the 5,047 square feet expansion project of RICO Manfacturing, at 699 West Liberty Street, Medina, Ohio.  In business since 1984, this company is the leading manufacturer of engineered material handling equipment and custom built lift trucks. Their products are seen globally in industrial, commercial, automotive, and military markets. This newly refurbished building houses the company's corporate and sale offices.

 

RAYMOND BUILDING GROUND BREAKING

A Ground Breaking was held on August 25, 2107 for the Raymond Building, a mixed-use, Victorian-style architecture building to be constructed at the southwest corner of the North Court Street and West Friendship Street intersection.  The 13,150 square feet, two-story building will have first floor office and/or retail space, and second floor one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

 

 
ECHELON SENIOR LIVING & MEMORY CARE FACILITY GROUND BREAKING

A Ground Breaking was held on August 25, 2917 for the Echelon Senior Living & Memory Care Facility at 635 North Huntington Street.  The building will be 80,675 square feet and is scheduled for completion in September of 2018. When completed, Echelon will provide 5-star service that includes the best practices in health training, as well as guest services.

 

KEN DUKES STADIUM TURF RENOVATION RIBBON CUTTING

A Ribbon Cutting was held on August 25, 2017 for the Medina City Schools Kenneth Dukes Stadium Turf Renovation Project on Union Street.  The new field was paid for by sales tax funds that the district receives for permanent improvement projects.  It will serve both arts and sports - including student athletes and the marching band members

A Ribbon Cutting was held on August 25, 2017 for Skin Care Solutions, LLC, located on the second floor of 410 South Court Street.  Drs. Debra Fast, Kathleen Fearon, and Dana Bonezzi provide an extensive list of services at their Medina location. They specialize in non-invasive procedures such as winkle reduction, volume restoration, cool sculpting, laser treatments and much more.  

 

 HHL GROUP, INC RIBBON CUTTING

A Ribbon Cutting was held August 25, 2017 for HHL Group, Inc. in honor of their expansion and new location at 345 East Washington Street.  Located in Medina since 2003, HHL Group is a Certified Public Accountant - CPA firm providing accounting and business consulting services.  The HHL Group is owned by active community volunteer, Laurie Price.

 

 GREEN BIOLOGICS RIBBON CUTTING

 A Ribbon Cutting was held on September 22, 2017 for Green Biologics, Ltd. located at 803 East Washington Street, Suite 110.  Green Biologics was founded in England.  The company works toward transforming the global chemicals market, by providing customers with more sustainable and higher value products compared to petroleum-based alternatives. They have been expanding their presence in the US since 2012.

 

 ECHELON INDEPENDENT LIVING COMMUNITY GROUND BREAKING

On September 22, 2017, a Ground Breaking was held for the Echelon Independent Living Community at 629 North Huntington Street. When completed, this 119,413 SF, three-story building will have studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, and many amenities, including a wave pool, sauna, and bistro.

 

PROJECT LEARN EXPANSION RIBBON CUTTING

A Ribbon Cutting was held on September 22, 2017, for the Project: LEARN expansion at 105 West Liberty Street, home of The Book Shelf Bookstore & Turtoring Center.  Project: LEARN acquired new second floor office space that freed up first floor space which was converted into a new Children's Reading Room.

 

CIRCLES ON THE SQUARE - A DONUT COMPANY RIBBON CUTTING

A Ribbon Cutting was held on September 22, 2017 for the Grand Opening of Circles on the Square - A Donut Company. The shop features gourmet cake-style donuts in 25 different flavors that are made to order from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm by owners Scott & Melissa Sandusky. First you add the glaze and then the toppings.  There is now a donut shop for everyone's tastes on the Medina Square!

 

 

FIRE-DEX EXPANSION GROUND BREAKING

The City of Medina is pleased to announce that another local manufacturer has broken ground for an expansion. On September 25, the city, Chamber of Commerce, and Main Street Medina celebrated the Ground Breaking for a new 29,000 SF expansion at Fire-Dex, located at 780 South Progress Drive. Fire-Dex is a leading manufacturer and marketer of protective firefighting clothing, emergency response apparel, NFPA hoods, helmets, gloves and boots.

 

JOBS FOR OHIO GRADUATES

Jobs for Ohio Graduates (JOG) is a private, non-profit agency which provides free education and job search support for young people ages 16 through 24.  The agency  recently moved its offices from Medina Township to its new location in the City of Medina at 257 South Court Street, Suite 1.

 

 HUNTINGTON SQUARE SENIOR APARTMENTS

Huntington Square Senior Apartments are brand new one-and-two-bedroom senior apartments for 55 and over with on-site beauty salon, barber shop, fitness center and community room with kitchen and patio. The 131 units which are handicapped accessible and pet friendly are located at 699 North Huntington Street.

 

 ACC ADULT HOME CARE

ACC Adult Home Care is an in-home assisted living resource for long-term or temporary day-to-day program for older adults or individuals with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Arthritis, or Dementia who wish to remain at home versus a nursing home or an assisted living facility.  The Medina office is located at 451 West Liberty Street.

 

 MEDINA SQUARE DAVITA DIALYSIS

Medina Square Davita Dialysis at 740 North Court Street will officially open in mid-January 2018. Kidney dialysis patients must go through treatment three times a week, so this totally renovated building will initially be open from 6:00am to 6:00pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Once more patients are added, the facility will be open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.  In addition to dialysis, patients receive coaching on diet and other health issues that can accompany renal failure.

 

 EMI'S TAQUERIA

Emi's Taqueria at 249 Lafayette Road is a take-out Mexican restaurant featuring authentic tacos, burritos, tamales, and salads all made fresh to order. Owner Emilia Medina is not new to the restaurant business, having worked at Thyme² for more than 10 years. 

 

 JT'S BARBECUE BUFFET

JT’s Barbecue, now open at 930 West Liberty Street is open for lunch and dinner weekdays and Saturdays with a barbecue buffet.  This family business began with a food truck and has now grown into a sit-down restaurant that features several types of meats you can top with several signature sauces and compliment with a variety of sides.

 

NIBBLE

Nibble, a specialty food shop at 102 West Liberty Street next to Hershey’s Barber Shop, opened just in time for Candlelight Walk and the holidays with an amazing selection of packaged gourmet foods and food-related items.  As Medina’s smallest retail shop, owner Melissa Ziogas, also the owner of The Raspberry and Rose, has filled Nibble with all things worth nibbling.
