The Finance Department under the direction of the Finance Director is responsible for the accurate accounting of all receipts, disbursements, assets, liabilities, assessments and collects all monies due to the City of Medina. The Finance Department also records and prints water/rubbish billings, prepares payroll, maintains city investments and capital assets. The Finance Department represents the city fully in all financial matters and abides by all mandates governing proper fiscal controls.


For municipal taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2016, all City residents age 18 and over are required to file a city income tax return with the Central Collection Agency (CCA).

For municipal taxable years beginning prior to January 1, 2016, all City residents age 16 and over are required to file a city income tax return with CCA.

Returns for tax year 2016 must be filed by April 18, 2017.


During the tax season, CCA representatives will be at the Medina Community Recreation Center, 855 Weymouth Road, Medina, Ohio, to offer free assistance with CCA tax forms.  Dates/times are as follows:

  • Friday, March 10, 2017, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Community Room A
  • Tuesday, April 4, 2017, 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Community Room A
  • Saturday, April 8, 2017, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Community Room B/C
  • Tuesday, April 11, 2017, Noon to 5 p.m., Community Room B/C
  • Monday, April 17, 2017, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Community Room A
