An open, competitive examination will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 to create an eligible list for the following classification:

MEDINA CITY SCHOOLS

 Starting Salary:  $14.04/hour

Deadline to submit a completed employment application is 4pm, Friday, April 15, 2022.   Resumes may be submitted as a supplement, but a COMPLETED EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION IS REQUIRED.

NATURE OF WORK:  Aide position for Medina City Schools.  Duties may include supervising students in their activities and games; performing crossing guard duties; informing building principal of matters; other related duties as are reasonable and proper when requested by school administration.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Possession of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and ability to qualify for aide permit.  Ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to work well with children, school staff, and the public.

 NATURE OF EXAMINATION:  Written examination will test for knowledge of general office skills, reading comprehension, basic mathematics, and working with others.  A passing grade is 70% or above.  ALTHOUGH THIS TEST IS ADMINISTERED BY THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, THIS IS NOT A CIVIL SERVICE POSITION.

 VETERANS PREFERENCE:  Any veteran of the U. S. Armed Forces who has been honorably discharged and who passes the examination may receive additional credit, provided proof of honorable discharge (DD-214) is presented and verified prior to the examination date.

 PROBATION:  All persons appointed to permanent positions are subject to a probationary period of 120 (one hundred twenty) days worked.  The probationary period is an essential part of the examination process used for the effective adjustment of the employee and the elimination of any probationer whose performance fails to meet the required standards of work.

 ACCOMMODATION:  An applicant can request reasonable accommodation to participate in the application/examination process by completing and submitting an EXAMINATION ACCOMMODATION REQUEST form.
