Pay Rate G31 $20.24 to $22.31
SUMMARY
The individual in this classification performs custodial work on City and/or Municipal Court premises. This is semi-skilled work. Work performed is largely of a recurring nature; procedures and standards to be maintained are clearly outlined. Request emplyment applications by email to [email protected]
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – include the following: (other duties may be assigned.) This position directly reports to the City Service Director/ Court Manager.
1. Keeps building(s) and property in clean and orderly condition.
2. Performs routine maintenance activities.
3. Performs heavy cleaning duties.
4. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floors.
5. Gathers and empties trash.
6. Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
7. Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
8. Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
9. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
10. Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
11. Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.

It is imperative that employees are physically able to meet the physical demands of the job including, but not limited to, the ability to stand, or walk at least eight (8) hours per day, and the ability to push, pull, or lift at least thirty (30) pounds at any given time.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.

- Maintains regular and consistent attendance.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License.
- Common hand tools used in building and equipment maintenance work.
- General cleaning principles and practices.
- Operate equipment and machinery.
- Understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires the employee to spend a large part of each working day standing and walking. Bending, stooping, climbing on ladders, twisting, and reaching. At times, the work performed will involve working outside in adverse weather conditions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Some experience in semi-skilled building and equipment maintenance and in cleaning work. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
